For nearly three decades, the Rotary Club of Kakamega has brought together local professionals and leaders to expand healthcare, education, and clean water access across Kakamega County — one project, one partnership, one Thursday evening at a time.
The Rotary Club of Kakamega was chartered on 27 March 1996, bringing the worldwide Rotary tradition of local, hands-on service to Western Kenya. We're part of Rotary International's global network of over a million community leaders working under one shared idea: that people of action, joined together, get more done than any of them could alone.
Based along the Kakamega–Kisumu corridor, our members are business owners, doctors, educators, and civic leaders who meet weekly to plan and deliver projects across health, education, water and sanitation, and economic development — always alongside the institutions and communities we serve, from the Ministry of Health to local primary schools.
As Rotary District 9212 prepares to become District 9215 for Western Kenya from July 2026, our club continues building the same partnerships that have defined us for almost thirty years.

Every project we take on serves Kakamega County directly — designed with local partners, delivered by local hands.
Malaria prevention, blood transfusion support, and eyecare outreach delivered with Kakamega County's Ministry of Health.
Digital learning labs and school infrastructure that give Kakamega's students room to grow.
Clean water access and household-level sanitation improvements for underserved villages.
Skills training and small-grant support that help local livelihoods take root and last.
Working with the Ministry of Health – Kakamega County and Malaria Partners International, our club is distributing insecticide-treated nets across three villages to reach households not covered by national maternal and infant programs.
The project pairs net distribution with training for Community Health Workers and six months of malaria-burden monitoring, building local capacity that outlasts the initiative itself.
